Moments of Fame

September 2, 2008

That One Caveman has kindly included our post on time management in the 168th Carnival of Personal Finance. Caveman’s delicious theme, a Labor Day cookout, has us convinced we need to find a way to get invited to his cave or dinner! On the subject of time, one of the Editor’s Choices, The Personal Financier, suggests we spend too much cash hiring out minor chores because we may overvalue our spare time. Harvesting Dollars makes an interesting comparison between the habit of using up all one’s time available on a given task and the tendency to spend all one’s income, just because it’s available, and then suggests ways to set priorities to control that tendency. We editors love this one: Do you know what “stoozing” is? Check it out at Master Your Card — building your vocabulary may build your bank balance! And about another topic near and dear to the hearts of editors (who spend way too much time peering through glasses at computer screens and hard-copy pages), Greener Pastures has discovered that you can get deep discounts on eyeglasses by purchasing online. Living Well on Less has a mystery story: what’s killing the herbs? And speaking of mysteries, at the Wisdom Journal Ron draws some eerie comparisons between The X-files and finances!

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, the herbs in the picture have been dead for over a month. So they’re definitely completely dried out. :(

I’m definitely going to look into fluorescent lights. I considered spending the money on a a Glo-Light, but it might be wise (not to mention cheaper) to try the fluorescent lights first. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the mention! You have a very interesting website, here. I’m going to bookmark and come back and take a look when I have more time.
